Patrick Myers' Obituary
MYERS, Patrick Henry, age 86, born March 17,1926 in Missouri. He moved to Tampa, Florida in 1950 and was since instrumental in the inception of St Patrick's Church and School. He had a long career including Standard Oil Company, automotive product distribution and real estate. Patrick served in the US Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in June 1954. In more recent years, he was
instrumental in creating a program to help veterans with their PTSD symptoms. He is survived by his sisters Rose Kovach, Teresa Gurka, Margaret Mohar, brothers Mike and Joe Myers. He is survived by his and Jean Myers children: Sherri Bannister, Debra McAuliffe(Jerry), Steve Myers(Becky), Catherine Thomas(Larry), Cecilia Saxon(James), and grandchildren: Patrick, Graham(Becky), Andrew, Adam, Rick, Ryan, Natalie, Aaron(Anna), Adrienne, Michael. A Funeral Mass in remembrance of Pat's life will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.org "Combat Stress Recovery Program" to support Patrick's mission and work with PTSD veterans.
