Nicholas J. Alessi's Obituary
Alessi, Nicholas J., 78 passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019.
Nick was born and raised in Tampa. He graduated from Jesuit High School and the University of Florida. He was an avid sports fan, and a gifted baseball player. Dad had a great fast-ball, walked a lot of batters, pitched several no hitters, and loved his change-up! He served his West Tampa community as a beloved pharmacist at Eagle Drugs. Most importantly, Nick was cherished and loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Phoebe Alessi; brother, Philip Alessi.
Our father is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Viola Alessi; sons, John N. Alessi (Tracy) and Nicholas J. Alessi Jr (Leslie); daughter, Lisa Marie Alessi; sisters, Rosalie (Anthony), Josie (Wayne), Gwen (Arthur, deceased); grandchildren Maegan, Erica (Joey), Gianna, Justin, Nicholas, Natalia, and Sam Benny; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Declan; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6-9 pm Monday, January 21 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, January 22 at St.Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
