Mr. Miguel A. Mauricio's Obituary
Miguel "Mike"Mauricio, Jr.,84, of West Tampa, passed away June 20, 2007. He was born on Feb. 2, 1923 in West Tampa, Florida. Mr. Mauricio served with the 4th Marine Division during WW II. The 4th Marine Division participated in the invasions of Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. Wounded twice in battle, first in Saipan and secondly in Iwo Jima, Mr. Mauricio received two Purple Hearts. He was a very proud Marine. Miguel was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Inez Mauricio and one brother, Joe Mauricio. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 60 years, Lydia "Lily" Mauricio, three daughters: Desiree Mauricio Swanz and husband Bob, Michelle Mauricio Vicari and Kathryn Mauricio Bragg and husband Ray; son: Michael Mauricio and wife Cindy. He leaves behind grandsons: Jason, J.D., Sgt. U. S. Marine Corps. and Ray II; granddaughters: Stephanie, Ali, Alicia, Christina, Kelli, Karen and Jessica. He also leaves behind five great grandchildren: Isaac, Rachel, Aidan, Cole and T. J., one sister: Gloria Carreno. Active pallbearers include: Michael Mauricio, Ray Bragg, J.D. Bragg, Jason Mauricio, Bob Swanz and Joe Stephenson. Honorary pallbearers are the 4th Marine Division WW II. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Drs. Casellas and Cuevas and the ICU and CSU staff at St. Joseph Hospital.
