I wish I could say that time heals all wounds, but it will not. What will soften the pain and sadness of this loss will be the wonderful memories you had with her. Remember her smile, her feistiness, her laughter, and yes, even the times she reprimanded you. I know that is how I will remember her. Michelle had such a great spirit. She believed in being true to herself and apologized to no one for it, and that is the thing I admired most about her. You always knew what she was thinking and where you stood with her, because she, herself, would tell you. She learned to deal with my grumpiness in the morning, and even got to a point of asking me if I had my coffee yet before bringing something to my attention or asking for assistance. I just laughed because she got me. She was smart, inquisitive and challenging when she felt strongly about something, I will truly miss that. She always keep me on my toes and challenged me to think outside the box. She introduced me to Game of Thrones, and asked everyday if I had caught up so we could discuss it. I am going to make it a point to re-watch it in her honor.. We love her, and we miss her. She is family and she will always be in our hearts. May God bless you and heal you through this difficult time and know that your DTCC family will always be here for you.

No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. However, take comfort in knowing that Michelle is now resting in the arms of our Lord. My deepest condolences to the Blake family.

I smile knowing she is making her spinach dip and my pasta salad in Heaven.

Please accept my condolence as we traverse through this period of loss and sorrow. I knew Michelle for over 20 years and worked with her for the last 6 years. She was true to who she was and you did not have to guess what she thought of you, because she would let you know. There was no hypocrisy, either she liked you or she did not. We shared a love for the same types of TV series and were always discussing the episodes. She was most disappointed with me if I was not up to speed with the episodes because that meant that she could not share her feelings about the last episode that she watched.

If I passed her desk and did not say good morning, the next time that she saw me I was asked why I passed her and did not say hello. I got away with nothing. As a member of my working staff, she was effective, efficient, and inquisitive. Because of her experiences I was able to learn a lot from her.

She is physically gone, but certainly not forgotten. May her family find some solace in knowing that Michelle's working family misses her dearly and cherishes the memories.
