Mary Ida Vilchez (Guarisco) was born April 30th, 1931, in Tampa, Fl to Sebastiano and Rosario (Messina) Guarisco, both Sicilian immigrants to historic Ybor City, Hillsborough County, FL.
Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Ida Lorraine, her parents as well as her three brothers Tony Guarisco (Viola), Joe Guarisco (Josephine), Peter Guarisco (Norma). Nephew Sebastian Guarisco Jr and Niece Kathryn Joey.
Mrs.Vilchez was a devoted wife to Angel Vilchez Jr., for 68 years, An amazing mother to her three children: Victoria (Larry), Ida and Paul (Josefina); a loving grandmother to Mathew Williams (Sara), Michael Williams, Heather Williams, Veronica Gonzalez(Carlos), Joseph Vilchez; and a proud great grandmother to Samantha and Hadley Williams, Yamir, Gabriella, Gianna Gonzalez; and a loyal aunt to many nephews and nieces and their children.
She graduated with honors from Hillsborough High School in 1948 and went to Florida State University and graduated with honors in June 1951.
Mary started her education career with Hillsborough County Schools and worked for 33 years at Stephen Foster Elementary as a teacher and Media Specialist.
A service for the celebration of her life will be held at
9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 in 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa FL 33603.
