Mrs. Mary G. Taylor's Obituary
TAYLOR, Mary G., 75, of Lakeland passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008. She is survived by her loving family. Sister Mary Taylor was born in New York City, New York on August 10, 1932 to the late Mary Gavin. Her father was unknown to her. When Mary was 18 months old, her biological mother placed her in foster care with the City of New York. At age 5, Mary was blessed to be placed in the loving home of Ernestine Brown. She now had three sisters and four brothers who developed a true sibling bond. They have always remained close. Mary flourished in her home and attended St. Catherine High School, where she obtained her high school diploma. Mary later met and married the late Henry Luis Taylor. Through that union, God blessed them with five children. Mary was a dedicated mother. She also worked as a Child Care provider in Day Care facilities in Manhattan and the Bronx. She enjoyed working with children, reading and watching television. On the evening of May 21, 2008, the Lord saw fit to call Mary home to rest in the arms of her Savior. She leaves to mourn in her loving memory, her children Henry Jr., Arvella, Reginald, Sharvon and Derrell; two sisters; a brother; seven step children; two daughters in-law; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces,nephews and friends. The family will receives friends from 6-8 pm Friday from the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11 am at Rivers of Life Ministries Church, 301 Lakewood Drive, Brandon, FL.
