Mary Imelda Menendez (nee: McGaughey) of Tampa, Florida, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, one day shy of being 97 years old. Loving wife of the late Joseph Menendez; beloved daughter of the late Charles and Mary McGaughey; caring mother of Nancy (Denny) Holt, Denise (Kevin) Dwyer, Timothy (Cindy) Menendez, and Thomas (Holly) Menendez; kind "Nani" of Jennifer (Sam) Leoncini, Kristen (Geoffrey) Beane, Chris (Lindsey) Dwyer, MaryJo Dwyer, Annette Menendez, Stephanie (Winston) McMahon, Alicia Carpenter, Joseph, Matthew, Megan, and Nicholas Menendez; Dear great-grandmother of Myles and Brody Beane, Connor McMahon, and Hunter Carpenter. She is preceded in death by her siblings Charles and Dennis McGaughey, and Agnes Carson. Mary was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, where she attended mass every day. She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, and was a member of the band at Rocky Creek retirement center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School in Lutz, Florida.
