Mrs Mary Rotolo Medero's Obituary
Medero, Mary Rotolo, 92 of Tampa passed away on October 10, 2009 and will join the Lord and her beloved husband of 66 years, William G. Medero. Born November 1, 1916 the only daughter of Italian immigrant parents Cologero Rotolo and Maria Franchesca Sacco. Mary helped her mom raise six brothers. She is preceded in death by 5 brothers, Gaspar, George, Sam, Tony and Carl Rotolo all of Tampa. She is survived by her only living brother Phillip S. Rotolo and sister-in-law Anne of Portland Maine, sister in laws, Catalina Rotolo and Marisa Rotolo of Tampa. She is also survived by her devoted only daughter Linda M. Campisi and son-in-law Frank V Campisi of Tampa; her cherished grandchildren, Taren Campisi-Triggs and husband Dr William Triggs of Gainesville Fl and Frank W. Campisi of Tampa. She was "Big Nana" to her great-grandchildren, Billy, Marlye and Phillip. Her family was her pride and joy and cooking for everyone was her expression of love and celebration of life. Her wonderful Italian Spanish recipes will always be remembered and most treasured will be holiday memories of her delicious and plentiful Italian cookies and sweets she so proudly displayed each Christmas. Mary was one of Tampa's Cigar industries original hand rollers. She made many lifelong friends from those days. In retirement she enjoyed community recreation ceramic classes with many of the same friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home located at 4730 n Armenia Ave from 6-8 pm. A funeral mass will be offered at St Mary's Catholic Church on Monday at 2 pm with entombment to follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
