Mary G. Garcia's Obituary
GARCIA, Mary “Vivi”, 99, born and raised in Tampa, passed peacefully on April 9, 2021. Predeceased by husband, Mario, and daughter, Patricia Ann; parents Pilar and Aquilino Gonzalez and brother Adrian; she is survived by daughter Adrienne Garcia (Ed Duarte) and godson Richard Fernandez (Jeanne).
Vivi was a warm and caring wife, mother, daughter and friend. She worked in retail at Fernandez & Garcia and Belk Lindsey Dept Stores; was active in PTA and Band Parents organizations and a member of the Centro Asturiano, Ybor City Museum Society and Ybor City Rotary Anns. During retirement, she and Mario retreated to Anna Maria Island on weekends and traveled throughout the US, South America and Europe. She cherished their numerous trips to Spain to visit family and hosted her Spanish family and friends to show them Spanish language, foods and culture are preserved and celebrated in Tampa.
Special thanks to Casa Loreto, Julia, Yvonne and Maria for their thoughtful care. A private family burial service took place at the Centro Asturiano Memorial Park Cemetery, arrangements by Boza & Roel.
