Marion G. Jimenez's Obituary
Jimenez, Marion G, 107, of Tampa and Riverview, Fl, died peacefully at the home of her longtime friend and caregiver, Gloria Martinez, on Saturday, April 21, 2018 of natural causes. Marion was a Tampa native, born in Ybor City on July 11, 1910 and lived her entire life in the Bay Area. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Jimenez; her brothers, Cilio Guerriere, Joseph Guerriere (Mema), and Nelson Guerriere (Vera); sister, Mary Guerriere; and niece, Dianne Caccatorie. She is survived by her adoring nieces and nephews, Yvonne Diez (Albert), Cilio Guerriere (Carol), Nelson Guerriere (Linda), and Peter Mendoza (Ronny died in 2017). In her remarkable 107 years, Marion owned two small retail businesses (in Ybor City and South Tampa), loved to decorate her home for the holidays and entertain family and friends, opening her home to hundreds at Christmas and Easter. She was an amazing cook of all Italian dishes, a beautiful artist and crafter and shared that love with all those around her. The family would like to express it's love and appreciation for Marion's longtime caregiver, Gloria Martinez, who cared for her the last 20 years of Marion's life, including the last 10 years, in Gloria's home. Gloria was the devoted daughter Marion never had. A visitation will be held 6-8 pm Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave. in Tampa. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 27, 2018 at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Tampa.
