Marilyn Harding, 79, of Tampa, Florida, passed away suddenly on November 9, 2025, held in the hearts of those who loved her most. For the past 35 years, Tampa was the place she called home, filling it with warmth, creativity, and countless cherished memories.
Marilyn was born in Madison, Connecticut on August 21, 1946, to Clarence Ordway and Hazel Folsom Ordway, who preceded her in death and now welcome her with open arms. She is survived by her loving daughters—Kimberly Harding, Tracy Brannon, and Nichole Harding—who will forever carry her strength, kindness, and grace within them. She also leaves behind four grandchildren—Samantha, Brianne, Leah, and Liam—and six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Marilyn is also survived by her beloved siblings: Sharlene Ordway, Beverly Drolette, and Donald Ordway, along with several nieces and nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Marilyn formerly worked as an Insurance Underwriter at Brown & Brown (formerly Poe & Brown), where she was admired for her commitment, dependability, and professionalism. Marilyn found joy in life’s gentle comforts—curling up with a good book, crafting beautiful homemade ornaments, and tackling her daily crossword puzzles with quiet determination.
Marilyn was a woman of remarkable strength. Throughout her life, she faced illnesses and setbacks with unwavering positivity and grace, meeting each challenge with courage and perseverance. Her resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Marilyn’s legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the laughter she inspired, and the love she gave. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to shine through the lives of those who were blessed to know her.
A private service will be held at a later date.
May her memory be a gentle reminder of the strength of love, the beauty of resilience, and the grace of a life well lived.
