Ms. Maria Pescador's Obituary
Pescador, Maria, 88, went with the Lord on January 27, 2015. She was predeceased by parents Jose Pescador and Ramona Arriaran Caballero, and cousin Carmen Torres. Maria was well-known for her work on the Labor Movement for over 35 years as an International Representative of the Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union (RWDSU) and President of Local 533 Cigar Makers Union RWDSU in Tampa, and member of the OWLS of Christ the King Catholic Church. She is survived in Tampa by nephew Michael Caballero and wife Kate; great nephews Joseph (Claudine), Michael (Kathryn), Louis (Anne), Thomas (Dilia), John and Matthew (Lilian) Caballero and great nieces Rosemary (August) Francis, Anne (Colin) Eckman, Kate (Ryan) Horanburg, and Elizabeth (David) DiLuciano and their families, cousin Eva Ciaccio, and family in Spain. Maria’s memory will remain as an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31 from 10 am – 12 noon at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. Entombment will be held privately for the family.
