Maria Luiza Forney's Obituary
MARIA LUIZA FORNEY left our world on March 15 for her next exciting adventure, surrounded by a vast majority of her children, grandchildren and close friends. She is predeceased by her lifelong love, Willard Ray (Bud) and her daughter, Claudia and son, John. She leaves behind her children: Marieta, Sandra, Paul, Ellen, Shelby, Lydia, Joseph, Mark, David and Christopher; twenty-five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Born in the state of Acre, Brazil, she met Bud in Recife during the war in 1945 and followed him to the US to marry and live an incredible life while in the Air Force in South Carolina, Colorado, Germany, New Mexico, Alaska (twice) Oklahoma and finally landing in Tampa where she lived for over fifty years. Her children were born in every place they were stationed and created lasting friendships everywhere they went. A more energized, wildly courageous and madly adventurous spirit did not exist. She was not only a beloved "Vovo" to all the grandchildren, but to all their friends as well. She was an incredible role model to young people, especially when it came to love of family and world travel. She flew with the wind and sailed with the tide with no regrets whatsoever. Family will receive friends from 1pm – 2pm with a mass celebrated at 2:30 pm, Tuesday, March 21 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa, 821 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33609 the first day of Spring. How befitting her wonderous spirit and promise of hope. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Chapters/FLC . Funeral services entrusted to Boza and Roel Funeral Home, Tampa. www.bozaroel.com
