Maria Cecilia Collazo's Obituary
Maria Cecilia Collazo-Taborda, Age 76. On Sunday, August 14, 2022, she passed away and joined our Lord at St Joseph Hospital Tampa, Florida. Born in Medellin, Colombia to her Father: Jose De La Paz Taborda and Mother: Maria Abigail Mesa.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Anibal Taborda, Otilio Taborda, Jorge Taborda, Rodrigo Taborda, her sisters: Gabriela Taborda and Bernarda Taborda. She is survived by her husband: Hector Collazo and her son: Antonio Collazo. Her Grandchildren: Alissa Collazo (25 yrs old) and Michael A. Collazo (23 yrs old), her brothers: Alvaro Taborda, Abelardo Taborda and Ramiro Taborda, and sisters: Alicia Taborda and Amantina Taborda.
Maria was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. She had 11 brothers and a sister making a total of 12 siblings. She came to the USA at the age of 19 yrs old. This is where she met the love of her life, her soul mate, her partner in crime, her husband Hector Collazo. They married in 1967 and had a son: Antonio Collazo in 1978, the light of her life.
Maria worked multiple jobs. Nursing at Philadelphia Hospital, homemaker, alteration, cooking for events, security guard but her most fulfilling job was in construction as the right hand to her husband for over 50 yrs. She also did multiple networking businesses for over 40 yrs.
Maria was a very affectionate and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved everyone! She was a very loving person who lived life to the fullest. She always made sure to work hard at whatever she was doing. She was a matriarch, who extended her love and care to everyone.
She loved and honored her family and friends. All her family and friends will miss her deeply. We are at peace knowing she is with our lord. She will always be with us. She is the angel that will always be by all of our sides, family and friends FOREVER.
