Margaret Elizabeth Frederick's Obituary
Margaret Elizabeth Frederick died peacefully on November 6, 2025 in Tampa Florida. She was born in Tampa to George and Mary Frederick and was proceeded in death by them and her sister Wanda Frederick. She is survived by her cousin Pam and Tommy Vaughn of New Mexico.
Margaret was a lifelong resident of Tampa and lifetime parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Tampa in 1950 and spent a 31 year career with the US government in Washington DC retiring from the department of agricultural SRS.
An avid traveler and a dedicated volunteer, Margaret succeeded in visiting all 50 states.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Academy Alumni Association, the Holy Names Alumni Association, the Catholic Women’s Club of Hillsborough County, Friends of Sacred Heart and the Sacred Heart Council of Catholic women. She was also an extraordinary minister of holy communion at Sacred Heart Church and a volunteer at the Strauss center for the performing arts for more than 15 years. In 2012 Margaret and her sister Wanda were deeply honored to be awarded the Saint Jude apostle metal by the most Reverend Robert N. Lynch, then Bishop of the diocese of Saint Petersburg for their distinguished and outstanding service to Sacred Heart parish. Margaret was indeed a faithful person devoted to her church, her community, her friends, and most especially her sister Wanda . Margaret was a long time member of the NARFE South Tampa chapter 109.
Mass of resurrection will be celebrated in Margaret’s memory at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 509 N. Florida Ave., Tampa at 10 AM on December 11, 2025 with the right of committal to follow immediately thereafter at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park 4002 N 50th Street, Tampa.
