Manuel Tuero Jr's Obituary
TUERO JR., Manuel, 86, a lifetime native of Tampa, passed away November 3, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Tuero, Sr. and Adela Diaz Tuero. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Marisol Florez Tuero, his children; Francine Tuero Clegg (Gifford), Carol Ann Tuero, Manuel Tuero III (Lisa) and Mark Anthony Tuero, grandchildren; Philip Clegg (Aja), Michael Clegg, Matthew Clegg, Natalie Tuero, and Anthony Tuero, great grandchildren Philip and Cole Clegg, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Manuel was a graduate of Jesuit High School where he exceled in basketball, baseball and track, later inducted into the Jesuit Athletic Hall of Fame. He graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama with a degree in Economics and was the leading pitcher on the Badger Pitching Staff. Manuel was a 43 year member of the Rotary Club of Ybor City, and retired from Tampa Wholesale Wine and Spirits Co. where he served as Vice President and General Manager. He enjoyed the beach, fishing, and visiting family in Asturias, Spain. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather “Buelo”, and will be loved and remembered by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and funeral mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa, on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral mass at 11 a.m. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Jesuit High School Endowment for Financial Aid, 4701 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614.
