Manuel Roy's Obituary
Manuel Roy passed away at the age of 101 yrs. on January 18, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife of 74 yrs., Gloria Roy; mother Rosaria Rosello; brother Louis Roy. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Roy; son Louis M. Roy (Lisa); grandson Christopher Roy (Emily); great grandchildren Gloria and Francis; his sister Onelia Martinez, sister-in-law Nana Roy: and many nieces and nephews. Msgt. Roy served in the Marine Corp from 1939 to 1959. After retiring he went to FSU and graduated with a degree in Mathematics. He moved to Venice, FL where he taught for 20 yrs. at Venice Junior High. He returned to Tampa and was active in Centro Asturiano, Centro Espanol, American Legion Post 248, and others. He had a great love for his family, life, and the Marine Corp. Family will receive visitors on January 28 at 10:00am to 11:00am at Boza & Roel Funeral Home followed with burial at the Centro Asturiano Cemetery.
