Manuel L. Hevia's Obituary
Manuel L. Hevia Jr. (Manny), 73, of Spring Hill passed away peacefully on February 12, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Tampa, FL and lived in Spring Hill for the past 18 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel L. Hevia Sr., his mother, Rosa Yanez Hevia, and his sister, Vilma Dowd Tucker. He is survived by his sister, Sylvia Hevia Wagner of Arlington Heights, IL, and his fiancé Lourdes (Cookie) DeLigne of Spring Hill, FL. He and his former wife, Barbara Aguiar Hevia, raised their three wonderful children; Manuel John (Dionne) Hevia of Irmo, SC, Brent (Melissa) Hevia of Chapin, SC and Denise (Benjamin) Collier of West Columbia, SC. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jacob, Avery, Adam, Bryce, Caden, Joshua (USCG) and Brayden; his loving nieces and nephews, Carmen Wagner Hoffman, Dennis Wagner Jr., Cristina Dowd Anderson, Andrea Dowd Rominger and Aaron Dowd Jr.; many cousins, and many close friends. Manuel had a very close cousin, Robert Vigil, and a best friend, Vernie Arnold, who he always considered both as his brothers. A special thank you also goes out to his loving classmates of 1964 from HHS. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1964 and earned his bachelors degree from the University of Tampa in 1972. He previously worked in Pharmaceutical Sales and also as an Credit Card Sales Manager for Best Payment Solutions. Manuel’s family would like to personally thank Dr. Raghu Juvvadi (not only his physician or friend but also family) and the nurses and staff at Oak Hill Hospital for their professional and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 2pm-3pm with a memorial service from 3pm-4pm at Boza & Roel Funeral Home. Family and friends will be invited to share a funny or loving memory of Manuel at this time or please share online if you cannot attend.
