Mr. Louis R. Pullara's Obituary
Pullara, Louis R., 77, a lifelong native of Tampa passed away Wednesday, February 27th. Preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Sheila Pullara, father Joe Pullara and mother Leah Reina-Pullara. Lou is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Katie Romano-Pullara, his son Louis Pullara, Jr. and wife Lucy Rumore-Pullara, 2 granddaughters whom he adored and loved with all his heart, Michelle Pullara and Jenna Pullara, sister Antoinette "Sister" Pullara, 2 aunts Lean Cacciatore and Mary Guagliardo and many loving and attentive nieces and cousins.
Lulu grew up in Ybor City, graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1948, served in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War as an MP. He married his high school sweetheart, Katie and was blessed with 2 children, Louis Jr. and Sheila. Lou worked for the Hillsborough County School District for over 30 yrs. in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Department. After retiring he loved to travel, enjoyed cooking, and gardening, with a special love for Orchids and Roses. He loved working on cars with his son till late at night and was a member of the Saturday Morning Coffee Club at the Tropicana. Pallbearers include Louis Pullara, Jr., Thomas LoCicero, Cass Castillo, Henry Tamborello, Sam Tagliarini, and Anthony LiCalsi. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Jose Sanchez for his compassion, and endless hours of attentiveness that he gave to Lou and the family. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 1st from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave.. Services will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home with entombment to follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
