Alonso, Lorraine Pinero
of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully with grace and courage of Pancriatic cancer to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 20, 2019. She was surrounded by her loving family at home. Lorraine was born in Pensacola, Florida on September 1, 1952 and raised in Tampa. She was very proud of her heritage of being a sixth generation, Floridian. She graduated from Leto High School in 1970. Lorraine worked in the financial field and retired from Quest Diagnostics at 64. She was known for her infectious smile, warmth and generosity. She loved to celebrate life with family and friends. Lorraine was respected for her integrity and truthfulness. She was committed to her faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Riverview. She is survived by her loving husband, Tony Thompson, her mother, Jean Frier Pinero and is predeceased by her father, Alfred Pinero lll, her adored daughter, April Gomez and son in law, Will Gomez. The greatest joy in her life, was being grandmother to A.J., Max and Gio Gomez. Her devoted aunts Lois Frier Vega, Gladys Frier Datch, stepdaughter Amber Thompson, step granddaughter Joyce, and numerous loving cousins who held her in the highest esteem.
Lorraine was a friend of Bill W., since 2000 and worked with many women to assist in putting their lives back together.
Lorraine’s Celebration of Life Service is Saturday February 2 at 11 AM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue Tampa 33603. Reception To Follow
