Lenin V. Perez Sr.'s Obituary
PEREZ, Sr., Lenin V., 70, a Tampa native passed away October 18, 2016. He served his country in the Army Reserve. He was a graduate of the University of Tampa. He had a lifelong career as a letter carrier and was the president of NALC, branch 599 Letter Carriers Union from 1991 to 2001. He was the longest serving president and was very proud of serving it's members. One of his many achievements was he started the local food drive. He started a collaboration with the US Marine Corps for Toys for Tots. He was the founder of FWCC-Federal Workers Compensation Consultants. He will forever be known to many as “Coach”. He coached baseball for over 25 years at West Tampa Little League, North Tampa, Forest Hills, and at Jesuit High School. Lenin is survived by his wife Vivian, son Lenin Perez, Jr., daughter Liane Perez, brothers, Henry Perez (Jeannie), Dennis Perez and Gary Perez, grandchildren: Eliana Varela, Anthony Irizarry, Nicolas Perez, Christian "Storm" Perez, Angel Perez, Giana Varela, step children: Desiree Soria Velez (Norbert), Waldo Soria, Denise Prado (Joe B. Prado), step grandchildren: Nicole Smith, Joseph, Gianna, and Justen Prado and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed being surrounded by laughter with family and friends. A visitation will be held 5 pm -7 pm with a funeral service starting at 7 pm, Thursday, October 27 at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL 33603. www.bozaroel.com
