Lee Andrew Felton
March 7, 1961 - September 4, 2008 FELTON, Lee Andrew, 47, of Tampa, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2008 of complications from myasthenia gravis and cancer at the age of 47. His devoted wife of 27 years, Debbie, and their daughter, Jacquie, survive him, as well as his father, Willie Lee Felton of Lawtey; brothers David Williams, Jr., and wife Janice, Tommie Williams, and C.J. Felton; sisters Teresa Felton Barrett and husband Charles, Margo Felton Adeshola and husband Mohammad, and Kaye Felton Frazier; nephews Weston, Chandler, and Treyford Barrett; Austin Felton; and Emmanuel and Tommie Williams, Jr.; nieces Kayla and Shabrieka Frazier, and Clarissa Williams; Great-Aunt Alice Anderson; Aunts Emma Barber, Hazetta Hamilton and husband Arthur, Margaret Diggs, Rutha Mae Graham and husband Sylvester, and Dorothy Jones; Uncles Joe Felton and wife Lila, and Robert Felton; and numerous cousins. His mother, Mary Elizabeth Weston Felton, and grandparents Willie Y. Felton and Juanita Strong Felton, preceded Lee in death. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Celebration at St. Joseph's Hospital Chapel Sept 12 at 10 a.m. followed by a gathering at home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gainesville Chamber Orchestra P.O. Box 357011 Gainesville, FL 32635-7011; Lifepath Hospice Services 3010 W. Lee, a Florida native, was a tubist who enjoyed a 25-year career playing for various ensembles in the state of Florida. During 10 years with the Walt Disney World Company, he joined ensembles from each of the theme parks, playing everything from Dixieland in a small combo to band literature with the World Band, and exciting street band brass arrangements with the T-bone Brass and Hollywood Hitmen. Lee was with the Gainesville Brass Quintet for 15 years and was tubist for the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra until its 2007-2008 season. Since relocating to Tampa from Orlando in 1992, he performed with various jazz ensembles in the Tampa Bay and Gainesville areas as well as several brass quintets and wind ensembles in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota areas.
