Kelly Jo Melendi-Caruso's Obituary
Caruso, Kelly Jo Melendi, 53, of Tampa, FL, passed away suddenly on October 11, 2016. Kelly was blessed with a vivacious and infectious personality. She was unbelievably gregarious, never meeting a stranger. She had an insatiable and charitable desire to make everyone she met feel so very welcome. As a result she is survived by too many friends to mention. Kelly graduated from St. Lawrence Catholic Elementary, Academy of the Holy Names and the University of Florida. She taught for many years at St. Lawrence where she became a fixture and to many a legend. Kelly was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Gloria Caruso. Survivors include her husband, Michael Caruso, daughters, Meghan and Emily Caruso, son, Matthew Caruso, father, Joseph E. Melendi, mother, Lee T. Melendi, stepmother, Mary G. McEachern, sisters, Kimberly Kaye Mlack and Margaret Ann (Meg) Sweeney, father-in-law, Sam Caruso, aunt and uncle, Terri and Dr. Ruben Valdes, aunt, Barbara Ann Menendez, Godfather, John Melendi, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives at 5:30 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Tampa, Florida. A Memorial Mass will follow at 7 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Lawrence Early Childhood Program.
