Kathryn Sierra's Obituary
In loving memory of Kathryn (Kay) Sierra, 86, of Tampa, who peacefully departed on January 20, 2024. Born on October 10, 1937, to Jesse and Tempie Drury in Tampa, Kay was the youngest of 11 siblings.
Her life took a beautiful turn when she met and married Frank Sierra on July 10, 1959, and together they built a family that became her greatest achievement. As a loving mother to Frank Jr., Michael, Mark, and Karen, Kay found joy in being a stay-at-home mom.
In 1976, she founded Buccaneer Catering, which she grew into a successful endeavor that served the community for many years. Kay’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to open many other businesses ventures.
Kay’s enduring impact is felt not only in her professional ventures but also in the warmth of her family. She is survived by her husband Frank Sr., sons, Frank Jr. (Theresa), Michael (Melissa), Mark (Mary Ann) and daughter Karen (Tom) St. John. Kay leaves behind a legacy cherished by 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The services will include a visitation on Monday, January 29th from 3:30 – 4:30 pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Ave., Tampa. The funeral mass will begin at 4:30pm. A reception following mass.
