Julian Garcia Jr's Obituary
Julian Garcia Jr. passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024, at 74. He was preceded in death by parents Lydia and Julian Garcia and survived by sister Cynthia Coen, brother-in-law Randy Coen, nephew Maxwell Coen, and a large extended family.
Born in Tampa, Julian had a long career in public service, bettering our community through his work and leadership at Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation, University Area CDC, Project Return, and the Florida Department of Community Affairs. He also served on various organizations dedicated to urban planning, affordable housing, and community development. Julian enjoyed reading, eating, drinking, and conversing with family, friends and friendly strangers. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 11 am Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave, followed by a 2 pm burial service at Garden of Memories.
