Mrs. Julia (Julita) Insausti Sabin's Obituary
SABIN, Julia Insausti, (Julita), 61, of Tampa, FL, passed away on October 21. She was born on November 2, 1947 in the small town of Ataun in the Basque region of Spain. She attended Sacred Heart School in Ataun and Hillsborough Community College once she moved to Tampa in 1965. She was a beautician at Rosa's Beauty Salon and worked with Kmart Corp. for 32 years until her retirement in 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecilio and Faustina Insausti; sister, Ignacia Serrano; and two brothers, Fernando and Julio Insausti. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Joe Sabin. They were husband and wife, closest friends and confidantes. They were inseparable and needed nothing more than each other's company to be happy. They traveled together throughout the U.S. and Europe. For years they escorted Jesuit High School students on tours throughout Europe and made several trips to visit family and friends in Spain. They loved walks on the beach and hikes through nature. They enjoyed being with their families and friends. Other survivors include brothers, Jose Insausti (Lorraine), Tampa, and Antonio Insausti, Ordizia, Spain; nieces and nephews, Leslie and Laura Insausti, Tampa, Jesus Mari Serrano (Izaskun), Bilbao, Spain, Javier Serrano, Vitoria, Spain, and Fr. Antxon Serrano, Madrid, Spain; great-nephew, Connor Jordan; mother-in-law, Jennie Rodeiro Sabin; close personal friends, Rosa and Antonio Curras and their daughter Rosie Yee (Bob); Larry and Frieda Noblitt and their children Laura Hamil (Steven), daughter Sarah, and Travis Noblitt; and Al and Dot Esperon; goddaughter, Marcella Unger (Ryan); aunts Laura Ferlita, Dora Suarez and Ada Sullivan. She is also survived by her husband's aunts and uncles: Jerry Sabin (Josephine) and Esther Rodeiro; cousins: Joyce Martinez (Victor), Dr. Joseph Rodeiro (Nuni), Irene Hunter (John), Josie Buzzetti (Al), Steve Rodeiro (Mimi), Ann Abeel (John), Ed Sabin (Debbie) and Michael Sabin (Shanshan); and many second cousins, including goddaughter Tatiana Rodeiro. Pallbearers Joe Sabin, Joe Rodeiro, Larry Noblitt, Travis Noblitt, Victor Martinez, Chuck Heath, Vince Ferlita and Paul Ferlita. Honorary pallbearers Ed Sabin, Steve Rodeiro, John Hunter, Mark Demmi, Al Buzzetti and John Abeel. Visitation will take place from 6-8 PM on Friday, October 23, at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church on N. Himes. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 24, at 11:00 a.m. also at Saint Lawrence. The family will receive friends one hour before the Mass. Burial and graveside services will be immediately following the Mass at the Centro Espanol Memorial Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the wonderful doctors who cared for Julie, especially Doctors Hora Praphat, Giselle Ghurani, David Echevarria, Rafael Blanco and Pablo Ruiz-Ramon along with the Pink Team of Life Path Hospice and the nurses at St. Joseph's Women's, Main Hospital and Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Jesuit High School in support of the school's financial assistance program for current families in need.
