i have known sister reckart for over 50 years. The first time we met was sometime after i met her husband on the streets of my hometown, millville,nj.The Pastor was a preacher. She was a preachers wife.I was excited as most 16 year olds would be,as our meeting for the first time occured when i and the preacher brought to his house a young girl who had tried to commit suicide.Sister Rekart came to the rescue. As time passed,I visited them in florida, where i began going to church.Bro and sis Reckart let me live with them awhile. This is wher i became friends with them, like one of the family.I worked with the pastor in an iron yard doing manial labor.ai remember sister Reckart was always busy.Off and on there were visits such as these through the years as we all got older, i fejt close them both.Sister Reckart would really make me laugh as she attempted to do things around the house. You see.AS time went by she was loosing her sight from diebetes, but she got aroung like she could still see.She was very smart.I would help wash dishes and forget the bleach. She would say jack you forgot the bleach. I thought to myself,She Dont miss a thing. One day she was cleanjng under the sink and got stuck.I said to her, what are you doing. She said im cleaning and organizing. Then through the scruffie.she bumped her head. She came out ok.I think i made her laugh a little when i said,we need to get you a helmet, googles, and a pair of boots.I would go to the store a lot to buy her favorite beverage diet pepper and peanuts.Soomtimes i picked up chicklins she liked. There were many happy times with sister Reckart,She will be missed. There is more to be told,But i just express my good feelings on how much good she has done.I know this may sound strange but she was good to me like a mom. When i needed help she was there.I know Jesus has her now,she is in the best ever, aleep in Jesus awaiting her Ressurrection.May she rest in the peace of her God,JesusChrist.
