Johnny was my Father, Frank (Pancho) Menendez'dear friend at Holsum Bakery in Tampa, FL. Let me stray for just one moment.... Great were the days when Holsum had the annual Christmas get together at the bakery giving the worker's children one (1)walnut, one (1) tangerine, and ...the 'famous' one (1) 'child size' loaf of bread. Just as those memories were great, so is my memory of Johnny from when I was a child. I can never forget how Johnny loved to tease, joke, laugh, be happy, be a 'smiley-face' whenever I would see him as a child. My Father and Johnny relished their great friendship and seemed like they were cut from the same mold. My Father loved Johnny dearly for the man he was...good, honest, 'true-blue', and just 'plain decent.' I did not see Johnny again until around 2005. Johnny was some years older, but his spirit was still there....the spirit that I remembered as a child. That is the spirit that all will remember and never forget. God bless you, Johnny. Please say hello to my Father and the 2 of you please give 'peace to those around you.'
