Josephine Leto's Obituary
LETO, Josephine, 99, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017, just a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday. The life-long West Tampa resident was born in New York City in 1917. One of seven siblings born to Sicilian immigrants Carmela and Nicola Puleo, Josephine grew up in Tampa, worked as a seamstress and at the Del Monte Canning factory in Gary, at the end of Tampa’s streetcar line. She was active in the Sons of Italy Lodge and was known and loved for her selfless devotion to her family, especially her seven grandchildren. Josephine is preceded
in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank G. Leto, and leaves a lasting family legacy, including sons Frank and his wife, Eulie; Nick and his wife, Sharron; grandchildren Teri Josephson, Dean Leto, Manny Leto, Dominique Parise and her husband, Joe; Carla Knowles and her husband, Nick; Gina Leto, and great-granddaughters Lily Luke, Josie Josephson, Chantel Vazquez and Junior Vazquez and his wife, Megan; and great-grandson, A.J. The family will receive friends for Visitation, Monday, February 13, 2017 between 9 and 10 AM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, followed by Graveside Services at Woodlawn Cemetery, Tampa.
