Josephine Torres Gonzalez's Obituary
GONZALEZ, Josephine Torres, passed on August 31, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose (“Pepe”) and Generosa Torres. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Frank Gonzalez and her daughters, Patricia Orta (Rudy); Josie Nabti (Khalil); her grandchildren, Stephanie Rodriguez (Albert), Kathryn Orta, Majed Nabti and Cristina Nabti, her great grandson, Brian Rodriguez, her sisters, Olga Cimino (Sam) (Daly City, California) and Dalia Menendez (Emporia, Virginia), her sister-in-law Aida Hevia, and by three generations of nieces and nephews. Born on December 16, 1925, she was a lifetime resident of Tampa, Florida and a graduate of Hillsborough High School. She retired from J.C. Valenti Produce after serving as their bookkeeper for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Centro Asturiano de Tampa, a member of the Pilot Club of Ybor City, the Ybor City Round Table and also a devoted member of Las Damas de Centro Asturiano. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Centro Asturiano Memorial Park, 5400 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33619. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Centro Asturiano Building Fund, 1913 N.
