Michelle,
I don't have words to express my thoughts. All I can say is that I hope you and your children find whatever it is that will comfort you during this difficult time. As I heard of Joe's death, all I could picture were the days he would come pick up My Michaela from class at Lake Carroll. He would walk up that walk way towards our classroom and Michaela's entire face would light up. What a tragic loss of such an awesome man. Please send my best to My Michaela, Maddy and Nico. I hope Michaela remembers me...it's been a long time! I still have her picture on a Christmas ornament you gave me when she was in my class. You will all be in my prayers daily! Love,

Michelle and children, what has happened to Joe still remains fresh in our minds and we hardly know what to say to take the pain away and bring you comfort. But there is a Comforter we can come to at such a time as this. The scriptures are opened freely to all and there is a comfort and blessing we can have from reading them. Romans 15:4 says, "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.", and in 2 Timothy 3:16, "ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God..." For each new day, our Lord can give you the help and hope you need. In Romans 15:13 and 2 Corinthians 1:3 we find God being referred to as "The God of Hope" and "the God of All Comfort". He is more than able to meet your need and fill that emptiness you have in your heart. He gives us His word that if we seek Him with all of our heart, we will find Him. Michelle and family, we are sad about your loss and the loss of our friend. We pray for God's strength to hold you up and hope to visit with you and your family in the near future. Michelle, We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Joe's death. Your family is so close to Doug and Lorrie and the kids, so we feel a special loss. We will also miss Joe at the restaurant and making special things for us. I know it will be hard at Christmas, but know know that we are here for you if you need anything.

We are completely DEVASTATED by the passing of Joe. Joe we really love you and miss you so very much! It hurts us so much even more to know how close to our home you went into God's arms. We both keep second guessing / thinking of all alternative scenarios to have been able to find you sooner and save you - keep you in our lives... We have had sleepless nights since the day you departed this world - we can only say that this is a true tragedy - a true loss for the world.
