Jose J Rodriguez's Obituary
Jose and Maria Rodriguez were always together. One was rarely without the other. This was true in life and in death. Our beloved parents, abuelos, tios, primos, amigos passed away within 7 months of each other. Jose passed peacefully on May 25, 2020 (at 89-yrs-old) and Maria on December 29, 2020 (at 95-yrs-old). December 8, 2020 was their 69th wedding anniversary. Originally from Cuba, they left everything behind and came to Tampa on January 1964 to ensure freedom and peace for their two children, Jose S. (Joanne) and Marta (Juan). Their sacrifices, hopes and love nurtured a family that grew to include grandchildren Jose M. (Sarah), Thais (Brian), Daniel and Sophia and great-grandchildren London, Joaquin and Yankiel. Jose and Maria moved heaven and earth to care for their family. They were always available to provide support, babysitting, chauffeuring, cooking and loving attention for all of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They lived passionately, loved unconditionally, and put Family Over Everything (FOE-remembering you, Randy). This is their legacy.
Mami and Papi, these are memories we will treasure forever. You are missed terribly but we know you are both happy together again wrapped in God’s loving arms. We will love you and remember you always! We ask family and friends to celebrate Jose’s and Maria’s lives by being kind to others and loving your families deeply. And remember, if you have a moment to make a moment, take that moment! Life is short. Make it good.
