Jose R Oliva's Obituary
Jose Oliva, 84, of Tampa passed away on March 26th, 2023.
A life-long Tampa resident, he was a devote husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
He attended Jefferson High School, playing percussion in the band and served in US Coast Guard.
Jose retired in 2003 from the US Postal Service and was a Trustee of the National Association of Letter Carriers Brand 599. He coached at West Tampa Little League and supported the Boys & Girls Club. Jose enjoyed traveling the world with his wife of 63 years, Sandra, and many dear friends; he was a member of the Krewe of Cigar City and belonged to Club UNICO of Tampa. A devout Catholic, he was a member of Mary Help of Christians Parrish.
Jose is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Oliva. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Marie Oliva, children Gene (Leah) Oliva and Nicole Zimmerman; grandchildren Tyler Oliva, Julia Miller (Patrick), Emma Zimmerman, and Jillian Zimmerman.
Mass & a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 15th, 12:00 pm at Mary Help of Christians Parrish, 6400 East Chelsea St., Tampa Florida.
