Jose Ramon Arenas' Obituary
ARENAS, Jose Ramon (Pepe) 89, passed away on September 22, 2018. He was born in Alles, Asturias, Spain and was a resident of Tampa since 1956. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ligia (Sanchez); daughter, Vivian Arenas Battles, and son-in-law, Emmett Lamar Battles, of Tampa; brothers, Manuel, Rafael, and Antonio of Spain and Mauricio of France; sisters, Delfina, Margarita and Josefina of France; sisters-in-law, Tonina, Nieves, Kety, and Argentina of Spain and Engracia of France; brothers-in-law, Emilio, David, and Juan of France; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Jose and Delfina Arenas, and brother, Ramon of Spain. He retired from Pepin Distributing Co. in 1992, after over 30 years of service.
He was a father, a husband, a father in law, a brother, Tio Pepe to 21 nieces and nephews, and a wonderful son to his parents. His family was his joy and his reason for living. He will be missed, but his love, spirit, hard work, and determination will forever live in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 11:00 am -12:00 pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with a Catholic Mass to follow. Burial will be at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Tampa.
