Mr. John Michael Sierra's Obituary
SIERRA, John Michael, 50, passed suddenly on the morning of February 4, 2008. Although we will miss him greatly, those he left behind will be comforted in knowing his kind and loving heart has been received and his goodness will live on in the lives of all he touched. John Michael was a native of Tampa. His passion for life included family, friends, music and dancing. John Michael directed this passion towards his career as a food and beverage coordinator. His creativity was widely acknowledged throughout the community and was evidenced by the uniquely tailored events he created for clients and charities. With tenacity and a drive for perfection, John Michael's approach was to make each client feel like a member of the family. He also possessed unique charm and humor, often forging instantaneous connections with the individuals surrounding him. In essence, he made everyone feel special in his presence. John Michael was predeceased by his beloved maternal grandmother, Maria Spoto, who helped raise him. He is survived by his mother: Josephine Spoto Sierra, brothers: Paul Sierra (Elise) and Michael 'Mickey' Sierra (Cynthia), and sisters: Joyce Sierra and Nancy Sierra Huerta. He is also survived by his nieces: Gina Sierra-Townsend (John), Jana Sierra-Pullo (Robert), Adrienne and Lia Timmel, and nephew: Paul 'P.J.' Sierra. Finally, John Michael is survived by his great-nephew: Dominic Pullo, and his great-niece: Giovanna Townsend. He adored spending time with his family and playing with the little ones. He will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew him. Honorary pallbearers: Bobby Alvarez, David Conte, Alex Engelman, Eddie Gomez, Eddie Lamela, Joe Menendez, Robert Pullo, Janet Ritchie, Jack Scaglione, Cecil Sierra, John Sierra, Mickey Sierra, Oscar Sierra, John Spoto and John Townsend. The family will receive friends from 11AM to 1PM at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 followed by chapel services at 1 PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL. Entombment will follow in L'Unione Italiana Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society or Chiesa di San Giovanni in Alessandria della Rocca, Sicily c/o Sierra Construction, 912 W. Martin Luther King Blvd., Tampa, FL 33603 in John Michael's name. Acknowledging that not all can attend the services, the family wishes to invite family and friends to Joyce's home after the funeral services.
