M. Beth Langley
To the family of Jack, "Dr. Lamb", I was so saddened by his passing. I have thought of him so often over the years and followed his amazing career after he left Pinellas County. Jack was a wonderful mentor, leader, and educator. He always had time to listen and advise and his leadership made me a better teacher. He was supportive of and celebrated the achievements of his teachers, letting us know that he appreciated us. His attendance at daily Mass was inspirational and his huge heart and passion for addressing the needs of children and youth with disabilities was second to none. As a resource teacher for the most impaired students, I often was at his office on Arcturas to take and to pick up paper work. On one occasion, late in the afternoon, I was at the Arcturas annex with my then foster child. Eric was six at the time and had multiple and severe disabilities. I sat him in a chair next to the secretary while I complied paperwork for the week in an adjacent room. When I returned, Eric was happily sitting in Dr. Lamb's lap! I was so touched and grateful for his attention to Eric. Jack told me being with the children was the best part of his job.
Jack left lasting impressions on all with whom he came in contact. I pray that you all find joy and healing in knowing how special he was to so many.
God Bless You All
Beth Langley and Eric
