Joe G. Pizzo's Obituary
PIZZO, Joe G., 97, of Tampa, passed away at home on August 16, 2015. As a young man Joe served his country in the Army Air Corp, 391st Fighter Squadron 366th Group. Joe was a member of IBEW and Centro Asturiano, as well as a member of Universal Lodge # 178. Joe could be found ballroom dancing at the German- American Club, Sons of Italy Club, and Centro Asturiano. He enjoyed playing his guitar and also known for baking the world’s best cinnamon buns. Joe lived and loved life. He was preceded in death by his wife Esther, second wife Mary, siblings John Pizzo and Carmen Gonzalez. Joe is survived by his son Mark (Susan), grandchildren Greg Pizzo (Rebecca) and Nicki Pizzo, great grandson Jonah Pizzo, sister Lilly Gonzalez, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, and his faithful little companion, Ginger. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL 33603. A private interment will follow at Centro Asturiano Memorial Park with military honors.
