Joe "GiGi" Jack Scolaro's Obituary
SCOLARO, Joseph Jack “GiGi”, 93 of Tampa passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 3, 2017 at Melech Hospice House. Joe was born February 1, 1923 in Tampa and graduated in 1941 from Hillsborough High School. He served his country in the Army during WWII in Europe. Joe returned to Tampa after his military service where he met Anne Corso. They were married on September 14, 1947 and have been together ever since. He is preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Rosina; sister, Rosa, and brother, Frank. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life for 69 years, Anne Marie; brother, Tony (Erna); daughters: Carol (Dr. Joseph) Craig, JoAnn (Phil) Demmi; two grandchildren: Gina (Jason) Misenhelder and Christopher Craig, and two great grandchildren: Ella and Kai Misenhelder. He worked as a foreman for Consolidated Box Company and twenty-five years for the U.S .Postal Service. He was humble and kind, generous to all and a friend to many. Joe saw the good in everyone and was not afraid to say I love you. A visitation will be held from 2pm – 4 pm with a funeral service beginning at 4pm, Sunday January 8, at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave, Tampa. The family would like to express its’ appreciation to ICU, Critical Care Unit at St Joseph’s Hospital and Melech Hospice House.
