Mr. Jesus G. Martinez's Obituary
MARTINEZ, Jesus G, 96 went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2015. Jesus, also known as Pachu, Jimmy, Abuelo and “Super” Abuelo was born on March 6, 1918 in Tampa, Florida. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was also a waiter at The Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City for over 30 years.
His loving wife, Jennie Martinez and grandson, Anthony Valdes, Jr, preceded him in death.
Jesus is survived by his children, William Martinez (Gail), Mary Ann Lewis (Jack), Jerry Martinez (Frances) and Teresa Goan. He is also survived by grandchildren: Jimmy Winn, Teresa Lynn Gonzalez (Arnold “JR”), Teresa Haag (Steve), Billy Martinez (Danielle), Lisa Acebo (Al), Chris Valdes (Pat), Bryan Martinez (Amy), Keith Goan (Britney), Janelle Wolff (Dan), Jennie Palmer (Doug), Crystal Lynch (David), 16 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff at Alexa House and Melech Hospice House for their loving care in the final days. A Funeral Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated at 12 PM on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Ave., Tampa, FL 33614. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until time of the Mass at 12 PM at the church. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice, 12470 Telecom Drive, Suite 300, Temple Terrace, FL 33637 or St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
