He was born on September 15, 1929, in West Tampa, FL to Jesus and Marina Yado. Jess attended Jesuit High School before going to the University of Tampa, and then on to the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
It was there that he received 2 degrees in Business Administration and Business Marketing. From there he went to Korea where he served in the US Army, in the field artillery and gained the rank of Second Lieutenant. Upon returning from Korea, Jess returned to the University of Florida, where he earned his law degree. After returning to Tampa, he became a partner in Calhoun, Yado, and Keel. From this, the long-standing law firm of Yado, Keel, Nelson, Casper, Bergman, Newcomer, and Pelligrino, P.A. was established. He continued practicing for over 60 years in the Tampa Bay area. Over his career, Jess found joy in giving back to the community. He was a member of such organizations as the Sertoma Club of Tampa, the American Legion, West Tampa Optimist, also being an integral part of the establishment of Angels Unaware in the Tampa Bay area. He also worked with the Reverend Leon Lowery in establishing Community Federal. In his lifetime, Jess had many interests. In his younger life, he won a contest for a new car design, fenced in college, learned to be a pilot, designed and built his parent's home, and learned Karate. He was a huge Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan, having been a season ticket holder since day one. He also loved traveling, music, racquetball, and history. But his true passion was his family and friends. He loved spending time with them in any setting.
