Jerry Wilber Leggett Sr's Obituary
Wilbur “Jerry” Leggett, Sr. born March 14, 1937 passed away suddenly February 18, 2015. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Leggett, Jr. who passed away June 29, 2014. Raised in Baxley, Ga, Jerry resided in Tampa, Fl, for over 54 years. Jerry was considered a pioneer in the home health care field in the 1970’s when he started his own business, Leggett’s Oxygen Company, providing breathing and medical equipment for those in need in the Tampa community. He later worked at University Community Hospital, lovingly caring for respiratory patients before his retirement. Jerry is survived by his wife; Gicianta “Gigi” Leggett, his children; Cathy (Vance) Singletary of Brandon, Fl, Tanya Morgan (partner Harold), Joey Morgan, his daughter-in-law Angela Leggett of Riverview, Fl, his siblings; Louise Deen of Jacksonville, Fl, Leon (Peggy) Leggett of Brunswick, Ga, Royce (Alice) Leggett of St. Simons Island, Ga., 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who were dearly loved by Jerry.
