James F. Traina's Obituary
TRAINA, James F., 88, formerly of Tampa, Florida passed away April 14, 2017 in his home in Largo, FL. James was born June 30, 1928 in Ybor City to the late Giuseppe “Joe” Traina-Berto and Maria Laurenzano-Traina. He was the youngest of 12 children. He was preceded in death by Margaret Traina his beloved wife of 42 years and nine brothers and sisters. Jim was blessed to find love not once but twice, he is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years Kathleen Traina; two sons, Charles J. Traina (Peggy) and James F. Traina Jr. (Tina); three stepsons, Brian, Kevin and David Windon; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson; two brothers, Louis Traina (Cathy) and Dr. Ernest Traina (Sylvia); many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim graduated from Hillsborough High in 1946, served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Randolph (discharged from the military 69 years to the day of his passing), and graduated Columbia Institute of Accounting in Philadelphia in 1952. He was an active parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Council 667. He retired in 1992 from MetLife as a top agent after 35 years employment. He will be missed greatly by his family and all who knew him. The family will receive friends for Visitation Monday, May 1, 2017 between 5 and 8 PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Avenue, Tampa. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 2 PM at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 12708 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, followed by a family graveside service at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Suncoast Hospice at www.thehospice.org/Donate
