HODGES, Dr. James A., 82, of Temple Terrace, FL passed away Apr. 10, 2012. He was predeceased by his son, Timothy Hodges and daughter, Violet Hodges. Survivors include his wife, Wanda E. Hodges, daughters, Lois Mathews and Martha Read Obituary
Jim was a good friend to me at Harding University and a great help and encouragement to me at the University of Chicago. He and Wanda both had great faith and perseverance through lean times for him to complete his doctorate and prepare himself to become a teacher and librarian at Florida College. I am very grateful to have known him and pray God's blessing on Wanda and the rest of their family.
I have never met a nicer person than Jim. Always looked forward to his visits when he came to Va. What a life he had. Wonder how many new trails he will find to explore in Heaven?
I remember his quiet and meek spirit, speaking with the confidence of a studied and prepared mind. While at Temple Crest church of Christ his sermons were thought-provoking and challenging. He was a friend and advisor to many and will be missed by all.
