James "Dody" Massaro's Obituary
MASSARO, James “Dody” – 83. Dody was born in Tampa, Florida on May 12th, 1933, and left us on October 27th, 2016. He was a City of Tampa Firefighter and Captain of the Rescue Squad – saving many lives. On his days off he ran his plumbing company, Massaro Plumbing, eventually changing the name to 3rd Generation Plumbing. Dody was a 50-year Freemason and a member of both the Marathon and Tampa Masonic Lodges. He was married to Melba Gregory, who preceded him in death. Dody is survived by his daughter, Eleanor Massaro, son, Jay Massaro, daughter-in-law, Shawnabel, and his world: grandson, Vincenzo Massaro, sisters Yvonne Morgan & Mickey Day. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends, all of whom he loved dearly. Dody Massaro was the “Real Deal” and was well loved and respected by the many people whose lives he touched. He lived his life by the creed, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 12th, 2016. The Viewing will be at 1:00 pm with the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm at Boza & Roel Funeral Home – 4730 N. Armenia Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33603, and Interment to follow at Pyramid Crypts at 610 W. Indiana Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33603. After the Service and Interment, the Family will be holding a Reception at the John Darling Masonic Lodge at 4601 N. Habana Avenue, Tampa, Florida, 33614. www.bozaroel.com
