Mr. James Arthur "Art" Barnhart's Obituary
Barnhart, James Arthur "Art", 84, of Riverview, FL passed away July 10, 2015 following an extended illness. He was born December 18, 1930 in Worthington, PA. Following graduation from Worthington West Franklin High School, he served in the United States Air Force. Later he worked for the United States Post Office in Washington, DC. After his retirement from the Post Office Department, he retired to Florida in 1987, where he maintained his residence the rest of his life. He was a founding member and organist of Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in Tampa, FL until the time of his death. He is survived by his brother, the Rev. David R. Barnhart, his sister-in-law, Mary Barnhart, from Canal Winchester, Ohio, and by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Helen (Caldwell) Barnhart, his sisters Margaret Morris and Mary Ellen Rearick. A Requiem Mass will take place at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 2404 Stuart St., Tampa, FL 33605. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, Brooksville, FL. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in Art's memory.
