Hilda M. Blanco's Obituary
BLANCO, Hilda Maria, a native Floridian was born in Key West, Florida and died in Tampa on June 18, 2013. Hilda was raised in Ybor City, the proud daughter of Spanish merchants. She was a graduate of Hillsborough High School and later studied drafting at the University of Tampa. She met the love of her life and husband of forty-seven years, Jesus Harry Blanco, during her days as a dancer for the USO shows during World War II. Hilda worked as a drafter in the Tampa shipyards and later in retail for J. C. Penny's. She retired, however, from her clerical position at MetroIpolitan Life. Hilda loved to sing and dance. She adored glamour and glitz, HollyIwood stars, Elvis, bright colors - especially green and her family. She was widowed in 1985. She is survived by her only son, Dennis H. Blanco, her daughter-in-law, Patricia, her sister-in-law Flora Lopez, her niece Linda Raulerson, her nephew Joseph Traba, her two grandsons (D. Joshua and Daniel) and her great granddaughter, Natalia. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 pm at Boza & Roel Funeral Home 4730 N. Armenia Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33603. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am at Marti- Colon Cemetery.
