Mr. Herman C. Messina's Obituary
MESSINA, Herman C., 94 of Tampa passed away July 14, 2010. Mr. Messina was a graduate of Hillsborough High School and attended both the University of Florida and the University of Tampa. He owned Messina Brothers Canning Co. with his family and was a member of the West Tampa Coffee Club. An excellent tenor, he was a member of the Weinberg Warblers and as a hobby he participated in bee keeping. Mr. Messina also spoke four languages; English, Italian, Spanish and French. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alma G. Messina. Survivors include his daughters: Patricia L. Messina and Priscilla M. Pyne, grandchildren: Veronica L. Koenig, Troy A. and Dale A. Pyne, sister: Rose Valdes and husband Victor and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place at 2PM on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers contributions in Mr. Messina's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Marietta, GA 30067 or the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, 3607 N.
