Helen May Thompson (née Dunlap), aged 94, passed away on July 3, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. Born on June 11, 1930, in Somersworth, New Hampshire, Helen was a graduate of Traip Academy in Kittery, Maine.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, LCDR Russell J. Thompson, USN, Ret., and her daughter, Donna B. Schremser, as well as her granddaughter, Caroline P. Barrett. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen T. Val, Candice L. Lodato (Michael), and Jennifer L. Thompson (Marci). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Hannah S. Cail (Jake), Jessica V. Strader, Karen V. Horne, SSG Russell J. Lodato, USAR, Michael N. Lodato, Jr., Rebecca L. Lodato, an Rachel M. Lodato, and eight great-grandchildren.
Helen's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, friends and community. She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the profound impact she had on those around her. Her family and friends will miss her deeply.
