Gloria Alicia Rodriguez's Obituary
Saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish is not easy. It is with great sadness that family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gloria Alicia Rodriguez "Go-Go", who passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on August 19, 2022, after an illness.
Gloria was predeceased by her parents Gloria and Pascual Rodriguez, and her brothers Ralph and Walter, whose remains were laid to rest in Hazleton, PA. Gloria is survived by her brothers' children Dr. Patricia Rodriguez Hudson "Tishie", Robin Rodriguez, Diana Rodriguez Matrone "D.D.", Angelo Rodriguez, Harley Rodriguez Bobby, Robert Rodriguez, and Sommer Rodriguez Cathey; her cousins Mauricio Batista, Analicia Minguela, Hilda Leon, Julia Rodriguez, and Gloria Batista; numerous other close and extended family members; and her best friend and business partner, Lucille Rose and her family. All who knew Gloria will miss her dearly.
A retired nurse who loved caring for people, Gloria was born in Hazleton, PA, on April 11, 1947. She graduated from Hazle Township Area High School in 1964 and Carbon County Vo-Tech School LPN program in 1970. In the early 1970s, she relocated to Florida where she dedicated her nursing career to compassionate geriatric care. In 1985, Gloria and her partner Lucille Rose founded TLC Assisted Living Facility of Town & Country (Tampa, Florida). Expanding on her calling, Gloria later became certified as a Reiki master and minister. In 2003, Gloria Alicia Rodriguez retired from her nursing career to live a quiet life at home in Tampa, after suffering a life changing illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Tampa on Saturday Sept. 3, 2022 from 12-2pm at Boza and Roel Funeral Home (4730 North Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL 33603) An additional service and celebration of life will take place in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, where Gloria’s remains will be placed to rest in the family plot alongside her beloved parents and brothers.
