Gloria Frassa was the mother of my very best friend, Amy. I spent many, many weekends at the Frassa household over the course of four years when I lived in Tampa. The Frassa family welcomed me as one of their own.
Mr. and Mrs. Frassa put up with the silliness of us two tweenagers, let us be ourselves, and figure out who we were going to be. Mrs. Frassa was a quiet yet strong presence. It was amazing how she could convey what she was thinking without saying a word.
I can remember a few times when Amy knew her mother was dissatisfied and she better do as her mother wished (such as the Plant game incident)! I also remember many rides in her car with the soft sounds of 40s and 50s music, while traveling 30 miles per hour in a 55 zone.
I mainly remember the joy of being in the household and the love that Mrs. Frassa had for Amy, her husband, her children, and her grandchildren, and even me.
